Whether youre just getting started or deploying a complex system, launching a dedicated server has never been easier. We offer the fastest hardware and network in the industry with a scalable environment. Our 247 customer support team is always standing by to help with any questions.
We provision ready-to-go servers in less than 15 minutes and full dedicated servers in less than 24 hours.
ProlimePortal, our management portal, is designed with a simple interface to our powerful feature-rich tools.
We only use brand new certified server-grade hardware. We also have a No Hassle hardware replacement policy.
We have both monthly and per-ticket management plans giving you as much, or as little, software support as you need.
Enterprise DDoS Protection is available up to 20Gbps and 2 million packets per second. We use state of art technology to protect your servers.
Prolimehosts premier network is built with six high-end Cisco ASR 9000s, featuring a Noction BGP route optimizer.
All too often we see prospective clients (and rival companies) too focused on hardware specifications (CPU, RAM and size of HDD). But regardless of how powerful your new dedicated server specs are on paper, a weak link, like poor facility support or a mismatch to your perceived hosting requirements, may ruin your selection. When youre comparing different server providers, there are some VERY important questions you should ask before pulling the trigger. Knowing what questions to ask of their sales associates begins with YOU laying out realistic expectations of what you plan on doing with that server.
To the operating system, applications and platforms that you intend to run on that server, NOT just for the next year, but over the next few years as you envision your business growing? Give their sales representative as much ammunition as possible so they can recommend a workable SOLUTION that matches your requirements and then compare their responses.
Are you technically competent at managing the security, firewalls, applications and programs on a dedicated server? Sometimes, its best to leave those tasks to the experts that live and breathe information technology.
If your hosting server ever went down, would someone be available at their facility to not only talk to, but actually resolve your specific issue OR would they have to pass the ticket on to a level two or three technician who may not be in until normal business hours. This becomes especially critical if youre running a busy e-commerce site or an intranet for a multi-million dollar company.
Ask as well who their carriers are and the saturation levels of each. BGP version 4 permits an aggregation of routes, including AS paths. Why is this important? If your provider only contracts with Cogent, Level 3 Communications, Verizon Business, Sprint or any number of other backbone carriers AND that connection goes down YOU go down.
Keep in mind, most SLAs wont cover any losses you may incur in sales. If your server went down for four hours, a credit on your account for a few bucks wont cover your losses. Which leads to the next question.
The Terms of Service for most providers make it very clear that their clients are responsible for their own backups, however some do offer a variety of paid backup solutions. Unfortunately, statistics for companies that lose their data reflect overwhelmingly that theyll go out of business within one year. Whether the provider you ultimately go with offers backup services or not, BACKUP YOUR DATA!
